We review documents. We do not test products, do not inspect goods, do not visit factories, and never see the product itself.

We provide no legal service of any kind. Nothing we publish or send you is legal advice or a legal opinion, and no lawyer and client relationship arises between us. Where a question needs legal advice, get it from a qualified lawyer.

We issue no certificates, marks, attestations or approvals, and we perform no conformity assessment. No document we produce states that a product may be placed on the European market. No such statement should be read into any part of a Gap Report or Review Summary.

Under EU product law the manufacturer, importer or distributor carries the obligations. That does not change when you engage us. We are not, and cannot be, your authorised representative or responsible person in the Union.

A review describes the documents supplied, in the condition supplied, at the time supplied. A document not provided is not reviewed. Nothing in a report implies that documents not provided do not exist, or that they are adequate or in order.

We take documents at face value and assume they come from the party named on them. We do not detect forgery in a standard review. The Authenticity Check is a separate paid service for that purpose.

A report reflects the requirements as we understood them on its date. European product rules, harmonised standards and marketplace policies change. A report is a snapshot, not a subscription — Watch exists for the ongoing part.

Reports are prepared for the client named in them and for that client's own use. No other person gains any right or claim by receiving, reading or relying on one. We issue no reliance letters and accept no duty of care to third parties.

We do not review files for batteries above the usual size, heating appliances, articles for children under three, laser products or personal protective equipment. If your product is one of these, say so in the Listing Scan and we will tell you straight away, rather than open the file. The Service Description carries the full list for each version.

The full contractual position is set out in the agreement signed for your engagement and in the Service Description it names. The Service Description is not published on this website; we send it with every quote and on request.
