EU PRODUCT CHECKDOCUMENT REVIEW

SCOPE

What we read and what we don't take on

Before you ask for the scan, check that we review your kind of product.

Documents and products we review

Each document is read against the rules for its product group.

DOCUMENTS

  1. Declaration of conformity

Who signed it, which rules it names, and whether it matches your test reports.

  2. Test reports

Which standard, which sample, which date, whose laboratory.

  3. Technical file

What it contains, and what is missing from it.

  4. Labelling & marking

What the label carries, and what the rules expect there.

  5. Packaging & materials

Material data, packaging marks, and the declarations behind them.

  6. Your listing text

What your public listing claims, read against your own documents.

PRODUCT GROUPS

  1. Textiles & homeware

Textiles, homeware without electrics, jewellery, accessories.

  2. Small appliances

Appliances without radio, power supplies, kitchen electrics.

  3. Lighting

Luminaires, lamps, drivers and the labels that go with them.

  4. Radio & smart products

Anything with a transmitter, an app, or both.

  5. Battery products

Products with lithium cells or packs of the usual consumer size.

  6. Electronic toys

Toys with electrics or radio, read against the toy rules as well.

We read files for most consumer products. A few categories — for example products for children under three, or large lithium batteries — are outside our scope. The free scan tells you straight away.
